TODAY’S VERSE:

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.

We are continuing our study on eternal security in prep school. Let’s review our definitions from last month:
Eternal- lasting forever, without beginning or end.
Security- freedom from danger, fear and anxiety.
Eternal Security- to spend forever free from danger, fear, and anxiety.

Does receiving the grace gift of eternal security mean you will never be in danger or never experience any fear or anxiety? No, of course not. What it does mean is that during dangerous times or situations that may cause fear or anxiety, you will be able to experience peace. HOW???

Let’s answer this question by looking at some situations that are considered dangerous or that often cause fear and anxiety in people. Then, let’s see how the Word of God proves that you have nothing to worry about:

1- Lack of logistics (food, water, clothes)
God promises to take care of you and provide for your NEEDS (designer clothes, video games, and candy are NOT considered needs, fyi), so there is no need to worry.

Luke 12:22-28 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will He clothe you—you of little faith!

2- Bullies
God says we should fear Him, not what people may or may not do to us.  People have their own free will and may mistreat us, or the ones we love, but we have God, and even if our body is harmed, our soul is saved for all of eternity.

Psalm 118:6-7 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; He is my helper.

3- Death
We will all die physically, but He has promised us that if we are born again and saved, we will live forever with Him in Heaven. So, physical death is merely the beginning of our perfect future… nothing scary about that.

John 10:28-29 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

The bottom line is that we will all have difficulties in this life and even face times that may make us feel afraid or anxious. The good news is that our Lord makes it possible for us to experience freedom from these emotions. Life can sometimes feel scary, for sure, but God promises to protect us. Once you trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, understanding that He was judged for your sins, and accept His authority in your life as Lord, you are HIS child and He has PROMISED to take care of you.

Galatians 3:26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.

So, you just need to learn to trust in the all-powerful (omnipotent) God to experience His peace. He loves YOU and there is nothing that can ever separate you from His love… NOTHING... EVER!

Romans 8:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
