TODAY'S VERSE:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

We recently finished the “Salvation” series in prep school. God, the Holy Spirit summed up this amazing, life saving, awe inspiring truth into the following:
  1. Admit you are a sinner (repent).
  2. Admit you need a savior.
  3. Accept that Jesus Christ paid your debt.
  4. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Now, the Bible has so much more to say about the glorious gift that is Salvation, but that is a way to understand it. Remember, it is a matter of BELIEVING in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, not just repeating a sentence!!

So that we are not just repeating words we don’t understand, God the Holy Spirit makes the Gospel clear. He wants everyone to be able to understand it. He wants everyone to know that they are sinners in need of a savior. Then, it is up to each of us to use our volition to admit this (repent). Then, the Holy Spirit will make it clear that Jesus Christ has paid the debt for sin for His Children. He will then give the faith to believe! Our part is to want to believe and God the Holy Spirit does the rest.  What an awesome God we have!

Eternal life is a grace gift God gives us at salvation! As a believer, you have it! God gives His own eternal life to us so that we may live with Him forever! However, He wants us to experience this life now! We do that by learning about God and getting to know Him and His life. Eternal life is the life we will live in heaven and the life we can live on earth. Just think of it – we can learn about God now and we’ll be learning more and more about Him forever! God is so magnificent that we’ll never run out of things to learn about Him

John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

In order to get to know God better, sometimes we have to “flee” from some people and things. We can’t, nor should we always, literally run away from people; we run away in our minds from their human viewpoint to Divine viewpoint, God’s thinking in the Bible. Sometimes we have to separate from things like movies, books, etc. that have human viewpoint instead of Divine viewpoint. Human viewpoint doesn’t have anything to do with God and Divine viewpoint. Our purpose is to get to know God better; if our entertainment takes us away from God’s thinking, we need to leave it behind! God will provide things for our entertainment that will bring us closer to Him.

1 Timothy 6:11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.

God the Holy Spirit wants to change us into a mirror image of the humanity of Jesus Christ. He wants people to see in us: love, faith, hope, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It is so important that we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His ability to help us. When we are having a difficult time, we can fix our eyes on Jesus and His love for us. We can relax knowing and having confidence that He has everything under control! CHRIST IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. HE WILL STAY INSIDE YOU AND ME FOREVER!  It is up to us to choose to LIVE in the eternal life of Christ!

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Out of love for mankind, God the Father sent God the Son to earth to become our Lord and Savior. He sent Him so that we could have His eternal life abundantly and live with Him forever in Heaven! The Father wants us to be His sons and daughters! Jesus Christ took on a human body so He was 100% God and 100% man. He willingly came to earth to teach us about God the Father and to provide salvation for all mankind! That is amazing love! God provided eternal life, His life, for us! We do have the eternal life of God if we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior!

Ephesians 1:18-19 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
