OUTLINE:

“I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE”
This is speaking of forgiveness, specifically. The penalty for sin has been lifted by Christ’s sacrifice. This doesn’t mean that God is somehow “blind” to our sins.

A Good Name
Is of great prominence in the Bible, starting with the Lord’s, of course. We, too, have the opportunity to reveal His good name through us, as vessels of mercy. (cp Ro 9:23-24)

“He also called”
We are called as individuals, by name. (Rev 3:5; 20:15)

God sees beyond the mask into an individual’s heart. Heb 4:12-13

No One Else, Except YOU…
... can live out YOUR name...
... can build a good reputation for God, or not...
... can live a life that brings honor to His name, or not.

Our Individual Name
While God has forgiven us, He knows everything we think/do. All things, good or bad, are attributes of our name. If we are saved, the payment for sinning has been paid for by Christ. (cp 1Co 3:11-15)

1Pe 2:16
Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.

A good name is NOT an avatar.

The Christian Avatar
Arrogance is always looking for a discrepancy between that which is projected and that which is true, especially when it comes to God’s children.

“Deceit" In Jn 1:47
The Greek "dolos"; from an obsolete primary verb, "dello" (probably meant to decoy;); a trick (bait), i.e. (figuratively) wile:

Foolishness
We hold up our "decoys" hoping people won't see the real us... even though God made us that way and Jesus accepts us as we are.

We Evangelize Real People…
not their avatars! The fundamental issue is that most people want to project what they want others to see, not what they actually are.

An avatar is exactly what the flesh desires because it can’t face the fact that it is, itself, wretched, nor does it want others to see such things about itself.

"I know everything about you anyhow, will you drop your guard and be honest with yourself? I love you and I'm here to carry you, not to judge you."

Without trust, relationships never grow.

Remember that Jesus chose you, personally, by name…with all your warts and scars. If you’re good enough for Jesus, then you’re good enough for anyone.
Take that to heart.

We all need to make a decision: No More Avatars!

Mt 21:28-32
Jesus was saying that an honest, repentant prostitute has always had a better chance at being saved by God than a self-righteous avatar-of-a-person. A person who isn’t playing some game of projection is the one who comes to terms with their wretchedness. They are fertile soil for the Gospel seed. (Mt 13)

A Believer’s Good Name
The Word states that a “good name” isn’t something we earn by cultivating an avatar. A good name is something real, like its owner. For example, the Pharisees were dishonest about themselves, preferring to project something righteous than accept righteousness in Christ.
