OUTLINE:

Course Corrections
Every so often, we have to make course corrections, sort of like a sailor who sails for a while and then looks at his/her compass to ensure they are still going in the right direction.

No Future, No Past – Blog 10/8/21
“There are no such things as the future and the past. You can’t go there. They are creations, concepts, and the only time you create them is right now.”

No Future, No Past – Blog 10/8/21

“Being in reality – this moment – is where learning takes place, where performance is effortless, and enjoyment is natural. And it’s amazing how little time we actually spend in this moment.”

No Future, No Past – Blog 10/8/21
Stop living hypothetically and begin living in reality. God says you’ll be blessed for doing so – freer, happier, more content with simply enjoying the moment.

“one thing is necessary”
To learn from Jesus Christ. In Martha’s & Mary’s cases, to learn from Him, directly. In our case today, to learn from His Word. This is a believer’s top priority – to worship Him through the intake of His Word.

Martha vs. Mary, According to Jesus
Martha was anxious about “many things” to the point where she missed the blessings right in front of her. Mary, on the other hand, prioritized the “now”, living for, learning from, and appreciating the presence of her Lord.

‘Now’ is Beautiful
Regardless of your past or future, embrace the “now”. Live in the moment. If you are a believer, you are precious to God. Enjoy this fact always, disallowing anything/anyone from robbing you of it!

“you are not your own”
You have been purchased with the blood of Christ. You are the Lord’s personal possession (1Pe 2:9). Your body, your person, is a holy temple and your days here on Earth are numbered, “So glorify God in your body.”

1Pe 2:9 [NLT]
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,[a] a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Lk 10:41
But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,…

Lk 10:42
...but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

Trust the Great Physician
If you’re looking for the right medicine to cure your anxiety, then read your Bible, listen to your pastor who’s filled with the Spirit, read the blogs, attend the Bible studies (aka – take the medicine your Great Physician has prescribed!). PS: the right dose is whatever He gives you, by grace, nothing less.

Jer 17:14
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.

Psa 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds
