Fear and Faith - Blog: 9/11/20
I don’t have all the answers, but I do know that a person who doesn’t fear the Lord cannot possibly have genuine faith in Him; and, the greater the fear the greater the faith (we have our greatest faith in the things we fear the most).

Origins of Fear
If we believe others have power over us, we fear them and when they issue commands, we obey. Likewise, if we believe God has power over us, we fear Him and obey His commands.

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Also translated, “Since God is for us...” We find our sense of security in those we believe are the most powerful. ’Tis why we tend to submit (out of fear) to perceived power, regardless if it’s godly or not. If we righteously fear God’s power, then we are ever-secure!

The Origins of Fear
It’s on the premise of perceived power that our fear develops.

We have confidence in the things we fear the most.

Whom Do You Fear?
An “evildoer” fears man more than God. Conversely, a “doer of the Word” (ala Jas 1:22) (the opposite of an evildoer) fears God more than man.

Pr 14:20-21 [Amplified Classic]
The poor is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich has many friends. He who despises his neighbor sins [against God, his fellowman, and himself], but happy (blessed and fortunate) is he who is kind and merciful to the poor.

Pr 14:31 [Amplified Classic]
He who oppresses the poor reproaches, mocks, and insults his Maker, but he who is kind and merciful to the needy honors Him.

Mocking the Poor Insults God
To mock the creature is to insult the Creator, for it is the Creator who made the creature (ref: Ps 139:14; Is 44:24).

The Mind of Christ
The Bible, as a whole, is the very mind of Christ. We don’t just “hear” from Jesus Christ when we read red letters in our Bibles. The Bible is His Word, mind, thoughts, heart.

The Church-Age
Christians are never taught to keep the Sabbath.

Col 3:23-24 [Amplified]
Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.

The Mind of Christ
The Bible, as a whole, is the very mind of Christ. We don’t just “hear” from Jesus Christ when we read red letters in our Bibles. The Bible is His Word, mind, thoughts, heart.

Jn 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Is 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

Mocking the Poor Insults God
To mock the creature is to insult the Creator, for it is the Creator who made
the creature (ref: Ps 139:14; Is 44:24).
