OUTLINE:

Obedience
Obedience isn’t just wrought with blessings, but it is an imperative, an absolute; it isn’t optional for a believer. This is something Jesus plainly stated (Jn 14:15, 15:8-14).

The Opposite of Life
Death is the opposite of life. It is what God promised mankind in the event they ever disobeyed Him. By its very nature, disobedience is a proclamation of ejection from the sphere of eternal life, namely from God (aka spiritual death).

Death
Therefore, when man disobeyed God, he had to be ejected from this holy place called "life"...or more specifically, "eternal life" or "life eternal". Life and death are mutually exclusive.

Eternal Life or “Life Eternal”
When we think of eternal life, we must think of it as an object, not just a description of a timeline with no beginning/end. (Ref. 1Jn 1:2; 5:11, 20)

2Co 11:4 [Amplified]
For [you seem willing to allow it] if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted. You tolerate all this beautifully [welcoming the deception].

Purpose Gives Direction
Given that the Lord has revealed real PURPOSE for us, the point is that we don't misappropriate our lives once saved.

Perspective On Sanctification
“We” (every part of us) have a purpose - spirit, soul, body! (Ala 1Co 9:26-27)

And the truth shall make you FREE…
The Truth is unmistakable, unavoidable, immutable. It is also immovable, implying we must be changed (sanctified) to accommodate it, NOT vice versa. The sinful flesh despises this reality.

2Ti 2:22 [Amplified Classic]
Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
