Integrity to God’s Purposes
There’s nothing heroic about burn-out. If you run the first mile of a marathon without regard for the remaining 25.2 miles, you’re an idiot, not a role model.

“you are not your own”
You have been purchased with the blood of Christ. You are the Lord’s personal possession (1Pe 2:9). Your body, your person, is a holy temple and your days here on Earth are numbered, “So glorify God in your body.”

Everything comes at a cost.

The “Law” of Easy
If something’s easy for you, chances are someone else has made it so through hard labor.
You cannot be a “hero” or someone else’s “savior” AND simultaneously serve the Lord.

Deu 6:15-16a
for the LORD your God in your midst is a jealous God—lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth. You shall not put the LORD your God to the test.

Defending Against Attacks
The craftier the enemy, the more subtle the attacks, the more traps have been set, and the greater the “surgical precision” required by the righteous party in their defense. (1Pe 3:8-22)

You are blessed to be members of this congregation.

The “Law” of Easy
If something’s easy for you, chances are someone else has made it so through hard labor.

Humility vs. Arrogance
A person who refuses to rest and reflect, spiritually, lacks faith. There’s always a “storm” somewhere in our periphery in this life. We must learn to hand over the reins to God.

The Fruit of Your Labor
Unless you are laboring for the Lord, then your labor is in vain. If you’re laboring when you ought to be resting, the Lord is not pleased (balance: if you’re resting when you should be laboring, this displeases the Lord, also).

The results of obedience will speak for themselves.
