OUTLINE:

“Give, and it will be given to you”
This is the ultimate paradigm shift! While utterly incomprehensible to worldly wisdom, it is the very foundation of true Christianity. What we keep, we lose. What we give, we have.

The Dutiful Slave
We are not to pat ourselves on the back for doing what we are SUPPOSED to be doing! (Lk 17:7-10)

“Give, and it will be given to you”
This is the ultimate paradigm shift! While utterly incomprehensible to worldly wisdom, it is the very foundation of true Christianity. What we keep, we lose. What we give, we have.

We must give love in order that we might “have it” fully.

Loving
The greatest seed we can ever sow is the Gospel. This seed is the very expression of God’s love, and therefore, when sown righteously, an expression of our own love (Jn 3:16; Eph 5:25-27; 1Jn 4:19).

“Give, and it will be given to you”
This is the ultimate paradigm shift! While utterly incomprehensible to worldly wisdom, it is the very foundation of true Christianity. What we keep, we lose. What we give, we have.

Love Gives
The love that Christ revealed to His sheep through His life, ministry, and Cross was sacrificial. He gave His perfect understanding, His forgiveness, His mercy, and His love to unworthy creatures.

Love Gives
What is good, we ask??? Love is. (1Jn 4:7-5:4)

Every Aspect
To love like Jesus is to possess a love that permeates every aspect of life. It isn’t just a passing emotional response - it is much, much bigger - it is on the same plane with eternal life, for God is both love (1Jn 4:8) and eternal life (1Jn 5:11-12).

Jn 17:3
“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

Php 4:7
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Wisdom
When we find what is truth, then we find the definition for “good”! (Pr 4:5-7; Jas 3:17)

General vs. Special Revelation
General: God’s witness of Himself through creation (Ps 19:1-6)
Special: God reveals Himself directly (e.g., Holy Scripture, Christ’s incarnation, dreams/visions, acts) (Ps 19:7-14)

What Is Good?
To love like Christ does. To abide in a love that cannot help but express itself, and to be honest about those who receive it and those who don’t.…

Who Gets To Define It?
God does. His fingerprints are all over His creation and through the various special revelations of Himself, including His manifestation as Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
